Popular Halloween Event Returning to Downtown Disney!

Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit Disneyland

In just a few weeks, Halloween will come to Disneyland Resort. Halloween time is one of the best times to visit The Happiest Place on Earth. There are a ton of specialty food and drinks, jack-o-lanterns are found in every corner of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, and the iconic Haunted Mansion attraction is transformed into Haunted Mansion Holiday. The hard-ticketed (and sold out) Halloween party, Oogie Boogie Bash also takes place on select nights throughout September and October.

But Disneyland and Disney California Adventure aren’t the only places to celebrate the most spooktacular time of the year. Guests can also head to Downtown Disney, where many restaurants will have limited-time offerings. There will also be a ton of great decorations and photo ops. And, for the third year in a row, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit will once again take place.

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit lets Guests explore the Downtown Disney area on a scavenger hunt, searching for themed decorations that are a part of the hunt. At the end of their hunt, Guests can turn in their completed map and receive a special prize! Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit costs each Guest $9.99 and can be purchased at multiple spots within Downtown Disney, as well as the gift shop in the Disneyland Hotel and in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

Guests can purchase the map for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit beginning September 8. The maps do not have to be redeemed the day they are purchased. The scavenger hunt will run through November 1 and Guests have until that time to redeem their maps. From images shared by Disney, it appears that this year’s prize will be pumpkin-shaped sippers!

Since it is so popular, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit will also return another year at Walt Disney World Resort. Unlike at Disneyland, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit will not take place at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). Guests who want to participate in the scavenger hunt will have to head to EPCOT, where they can purchase the maps at Disney Traders, Creations Shop, Port of Entry, World Traveler at International Gateway, and Festival Merchandise Kiosks.

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit will not last as long at EPCOT, only running from September 29 through October 31, and maps will cost $9.99 there as well.

It should be noted that maps and prizes for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit will be available while supplies last. All prizes may not be available at all times. The pursuit is also subject to change or be canceled without notice.
