There are certain things you expect to see while walking around Magic Kingdom.
Mickey ears? Absolutely.
Matching family vacation shirts? Everywhere.
A decorative porch goose dressed as a princess and posing in front of Cinderella Castle?
That one might make you stop and look twice.
That’s exactly what happened when content creator Liz decided that her porch goose, Lucy Goosey, deserved her own Walt Disney World vacation.
Instead of leaving Lucy at home, the family brought her to Magic Kingdom for what became an unusual princess photo shoot. The adventure even included a phone call to Disney beforehand because there was one fairly important question nobody seemed to know the answer to.

Disney World Had to Answer a Pretty Unusual Question
Liz’s husband contacted Walt Disney World before the visit to check whether bringing Lucy into the theme park would create problems with security.
Apparently, it wasn’t a question Disney hears very often.

The Cast Member handling the call responded by saying they had never had anyone ask about something like this before.
That didn’t stop the plan.
When the family eventually arrived at Magic Kingdom, Lucy made her way through security. The decorative goose was wrapped in clear plastic and Disney shopping bags during part of the process.
Cast Members along the way reportedly commented that they hadn’t seen anything quite like Lucy before.
After that unusual entrance, the goose was free to enjoy her Disney day.
More importantly, she could finally get dressed for the castle.
Lucy Goosey Gets Ready for Cinderella Castle
The family didn’t bring Lucy all the way to Disney World without giving her an outfit worthy of the occasion.
Lucy wore a teal princess ballgown along with a wig featuring bangs and braids. Her hairstyle resembled Anna from Frozen (2013), giving the goose an appropriate Disney-inspired look for her big photo shoot.
Then came Cinderella Castle.

Lucy posed in front of the Magic Kingdom landmark in her princess outfit, but the family found another way to make the pictures even better.
Liz’s sons stood beside Lucy wearing matching shirts that identified them as “Princess Security.”
For one afternoon, a decorative porch goose had her own security team at Magic Kingdom.
Lucy's Disney Vacation Finds an Audience Online
Liz shared the adventure on Instagram through the lizandagoose account, telling followers that dreams really do come true at Walt Disney World.
The post quickly collected thousands of likes and amused reactions.
One commenter called the video the best thing they had seen all month. Another joked about the stories Lucy would have to tell the other porch geese once she returned home.
The reaction makes sense because there’s something wonderfully ridiculous about the entire adventure.
Guests put enormous amounts of planning into Disney World vacations. Families schedule dining, choose hotels, plan attraction strategies and spend months preparing matching outfits.
This family needed to figure out whether Disney security would admit their goose.
And somehow, it worked.
One Very Different Disney World Vacation
The porch goose tradition has been around for years, with owners changing the decorations’ outfits for different holidays, seasons and special occasions.
Lucy Goosey simply got a wardrobe change that came with a much more impressive background.
Instead of a front porch, she got Cinderella Castle.
Instead of staying home, she walked into one of the most visited theme parks in the world.
And instead of another seasonal outfit, she became a Disney princess for the day.
Magic Kingdom guests see plenty of unusual sights during their vacations, but a princess porch goose surrounded by her own security detail probably isn’t something they encounter very often.
Lucy Goosey can officially check Walt Disney World off her bucket list.
