If you are still figuring out how to best use Genie+ and Lightning Lane at the Walt Disney World Resort, we hear you! Getting used to this new service included in the My Disney Experience app is certainly a learning curve, especially where some attractions are included in the cost of Genie+ and others are separate in the pay-per-ride Lightning Lane option.

Coming soon however, for a very limited time, some attractions that are currently available for pay-per-ride purchasing in Lightning Lane will be included in the cost of Genie+ ! The individual attraction selection included in Genie+ for a limited time will include everything currently available plus Space Mountain in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, Frozen Ever After in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway inside the Chinese Theater at Disney‘s Hollywood Studios, and Expedition Everest, located in Asia at Disney‘s Animal Kingdom. It should be a welcome change for Guests planning around Disney Genie attractions this holiday season.

The catch is that these Disney park attractions will move from Lightning Lane to Genie+ only for a limited time, currently set for December 19, 2021-January 3, 2022. During these same dates, another change will be hitting the Walt Disney World Resort, allowing for Disney resort Guests to use Early Theme Park entry to order the parks one hour prior to opening rather than 30 minutes. The combination of this and Disney Genie changes should give Disney resort guests quite the benefit when planning days in the Walt Disney World theme parks during those couple of weeks.

At this time we do not know if the dates for this group of attractions joining Genie+ will be extended, or if it is possible this change will come and go based on factors like park capacity, reservations made, or current usage or Lightning Lane and/or Genie+. Disney Genie also recently arrived at the Disneyland Resort, at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure however these changes from the individual lightning lane attractions only affect Disney World. If you have a trip coming up during that timeframe of December 19, 2021-January 3, 2022, be sure to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app or check back here for updates.
