Work continues full steam ahead in Frontierland and once again, we take to the skies for a little peak at what’s going on behind the barriers.
Closed in January, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to take the place of Splash Mountain and open to would-be Disney World Guests in late 2024. Beyond obvious visual and audio changes to the facade, fans are expecting the log flume ride to remain very much as it is. But how much of the ride is really changing?
Well, @bioreconstruct is back with some aerial photographs to help us derive some speculative idea of the changes being made.

Scaffoldings decorate the exterior as work reshaping several areas, including the top of the once-called “Chick-a-pin Hill” gets transformed. It seems that the most concentrated focus is on that top part of the ride, including the outside loop where the ride begins, where there will be more work done than a simple retheming of the animatronics.
We recently reported the tiara-topped water tower advertising Tiana’s Foods will be installed into the ride and it looks like Walt Disney Imagineering might have the spot already picked out (the empty white space in the top left corner of the picture below).

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take place after the events of Princess Tiana’s beloved film, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Princess and the Frog reintroducing Disney fans to her, Prince Naveen, and the jazz-loving alligator Louis as they prepare for a very special Mardi Gras celebration. However, certain characters might be left out of the experience, such as the film’s villain, Dr. Facilier.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be added to Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. In the meantime, TRON: Lightcycle/Run is set to open to the public at the Walt Disney World Resort in just a few weeks.
