In a move that underscores the show’s commitment to growth and innovation, Good Morning America launched a new series titled “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful” on July 3, 2025. This exciting initiative is set to run through July 2026 and will take viewers on an unforgettable journey across the United States.

While the show has remained a reliable and trusted part of the American morning routine, recent months have been marked by internal struggles. Good Morning America, which has aired since its debut as AM America in 1975, has weathered several ups and downs, but this new initiative signals a fresh chapter. The long-running format that has featured stars like Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Lara Spencer is being reinvigorated to captivate a new generation of viewers.

The launch of the “50 States in 50 Weeks” series is just one piece of a larger transformation taking place at Good Morning America. While some may see this as an effort to boost ratings or attract younger audiences, it’s also a reflection of the show’s ongoing commitment to telling meaningful, authentic stories that highlight the diversity of the American experience.

But the announcement comes at a time when the show’s behind-the-scenes drama has been making headlines. Recently, rumors swirled that Michael Strahan, one of GMA’s biggest stars, might leave the show when his contract ends. Although speculation about his departure sparked concerns among fans, recent reports suggest that Strahan might remain on the show, albeit in a reduced role that would allow him more time to focus on other ventures.

Meanwhile, ABC has had its share of controversy. Earlier this year, veteran reporter Terry Moran was dismissed after he publicly criticized Donald Trump and Stephen Miller, referring to them as “world-class losers.”

Despite standing by his comments, Moran was let go, a decision that stirred debates about free speech and media responsibility.

In the midst of these challenges, the “50 States in 50 Weeks” series stands as a hopeful and positive development. The show’s producers are hopeful that this innovative programming will not only reinvigorate the show’s appeal but also connect with viewers on a deeper level. The anchors will travel the country, offering viewers a window into the lives of everyday heroes and showcasing the beautiful, diverse cultures that make up the fabric of America.

Will you be tuning in to Good Morning America this year? With so many changes on the horizon, this is the perfect time to rediscover your love for the show. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, GMA’s “50 States in 50 Weeks” series is something you won’t want to miss.
