Everyone loves the beloved characters known as Disney princesses — even if some of them are not technically Disney princesses, but instead Disney heroines or female protagonists — but because the Disney princesses are often portrayed as perfect, graceful examples of decorum (especially the more classic princesses like Snow White), it can also be tempting to mock the heroines or portray them in more relatable settings.
One artist named Andhika Muksin has recently taken that ‘assignment’ to heart, and created many hilarious images of Disney princesses in realistically unflattering — or deliberately exaggerated — situations! Take a look at some of the highlights in the Instagram post below!
In the Instagram post, which is called the “realistic faces of Disney princesses,” we see Pocahontas, Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty) and Jasmine sporting less-than-attractive expressions.
We can also see some pseudo-realistic images like Snow White and Aurora sleeping (or waking from their magical slumbers) in states of significant disarray. Snow White’s hair is mussed, her makeup smeared, and her outfit disheveled. Aurora is sleeping in the same less-than-peaceful way that many of us sleep; with our mouths open, snoring!
Pocahontas and Jasmine are seen literally flying through the air — although in the case of Pocahontas, she is jumping or embracing the wind rather than flying on a magic carpet ride — and are sporting subsequently-disheveled facial expressions. Another comical expression can be seen on the face of Aurora when she pricks her finger on the spinning wheel!

Ariel is known for being a fish out of water, in more than one sense, and the little mermaid was mocked not once but three in this series. We have seen funny takes on the iconic image of Ariel perched on a rock singing “Part of Your World” before, but this one might just take the cake! And seeing what Prince Eric might see from below as he lays on the beach after being rescued is certainly a novel (and comical) experience as well!
