Where there are Disney characters, there are Disney fans who love to draw them or reimagine them in different scenarios — and one artist has just used her talents to create different versions of the Madrigal family members Dolores and Isabela from Encanto!

In her most recent version of Dolores, Vivian reimagined Dolores Madrigal (the member of the Madrigal family whose magical ability is enhanced hearing) with loose voluminous curls. Watching digital art be created is always entertaining, but look at the difference that some loose hair makes in Dolores’ appearance!

The change in the appearance of Isabela Madrigal (the sister of Mirabel Madrigal whose magical abilities include growing flowers and being perfect in general) is less dramatic. Isabela already had long straight hair, and Vivian Valentin has simply added some extra waves that she described as “babyliss”!

Even though it might sound easy to simply change the hairstyle of an animated character, it’s clear from watching Vivian’s footage of her drawing process that there are actually many layers and techniques used to create depth and shading that makes the hair look more realistic on the characters.

Do you like seeing Encanto characters with changes to their appearance? Do you prefer digital art like Vivian’s to traditional art?
