It was announced some time ago thatĀ MoanaĀ andĀ RiseĀ star Auli’i Cravalho would be lending her talents to Disney once again after her runaway success as a Polynesian Disney princess — and now, Auli’i’s third big Disney role (including her brief time as Ariel) is about to make its debut!
Goodbye Moana, Hello Hailey!
The new Disney Channel animated show calledĀ Hailey’s On It! just premiered last Thursday on the Disney Channel and Disney XD, and came to Disney+ the very next day.

This animated show (which was created by Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton) follows a girl named Hailey as she endeavors to overcome her timidity by completing a list of outrageously-adventurous tasks — with the added pressure of saving the world along the way.
Auli’i Cravalho is of course playing Hailey, and she is joined by Manny Jacinto (who is playing Hailey’s friend Scott) and comedian Gary Anthony Williams (who is playing an AI named Beta).
Disney’s “Love Letter” to California
Scott and Beta will help Hailey overcome her fears and check off her extremely-challenging task list over the course of the Disney show.
The show is set in Oceanside, a real town in California, and it is meant to be āa love letter to North San Diego Countyā according to Nick Stanton.
Auli’i Stays in the Disney ‘Ohana
Auli’i might not be coming back to herĀ MoanaĀ role — much to the chagrin of many Disney fans — but she is clearly still part of the Disney family!
Disney fans will also be pleased to see Disney creating some truly original content like this show, since Disney’s recent bevy of live-action remakes has caused many audience members to complain about Disney’s loss of its imagination (even if the new Little Mermaid has been a huge success).
Are you excited to watchĀ Hailey’s on It!Ā on Disney Channel, Disney XD, or Disney+?
If you’re a California resident, will you be keeping an eye out for North County locations like Solana Beach and Carlsbad on the show, since the creators specifically chose to include them as an ode to the area?
