I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!

5. A foul mouth We’re not talking bad breath after you’ve eaten too much garlic. We’ve all had an experience or two around someone who’s having a bad day and has chosen to go public with their sour day. Maybe they fell off the wrong side of the bed (maybe they were pushed off). It could be they have a ...

No Selfie Sticks

9. Selfie sticks for your smartphone or tablet. You’ve probably seen selfie sticks in every public place you’ve visited recently. Selfie sticks are long metal monopods on which you secure your smartphone or tablet so you can take selfies from a distance longer than your arm. They work well for group selfies. Disney doesn’t dispute a selfie stick’s value. But ...

wrapped gift

8. Wrapped gifts If Disney allowed Guests to bring in wrapped gifts to any of its parks, why would they have such an expansive group of Cast Members and security officers at the front gates of each of its theme parks? It makes sense that if you must visually disclose the contents of your purse, bags and backpacks at security ...
