Another once-a-year spectacular is about to light up the skies of another Disney Theme Park.
Less than ten days ago, the skies of the Walt Disney World Resort were ignited with special Fourth of July Fireworks spectaculars at both Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. These shows are some of the most exclusive on-property, with only two showings on July 3 and July 4, and they are considered by many the biggest show-stopping pyrotechnics Disney puts on all year.
Now, across the Atlantic, another special fireworks spectacular is about to light up the night sky of Disneyland Paris in a similar way, honoring the French holiday, Bastille Day.
According to Disneyland Paris’ website,
As every year, Disneyland Paris is celebrating Bastille Day! On the evening of July 14th, spectacular fireworks will illuminate the sky above Disneyland Park! What better moment to sing, dance… “after all, well this is France!”
The once-a-year nighttime spectacular is set to take place around Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park. It will no doubt incur capacity crowds, especially as soft openings for Avengers Campus at neighboring Walt Disney Studios Park get underway.
Due to Covid-inspired restrictions, Disneyland Paris’ Bastille Day celebrations were canceled in 2020 and 2021.
Here is a video of the event from before the pandemic:
It is unclear at this time if Disneyland Paris will have made any changes to the show.
Officially known as la fête national, Bastille Day is celebrated each year in France as well as in its overseas territories and former colonies in remembrance of the storming of the Bastille fortress-turned-political-prison on July 14, 1789, which is recognized as the start of the French Revolution that brought an end to the Bourbon monarchy. Much like America’s Fourth of July, the day is marked with national pride, speeches, military parades, and fireworks.
