Brand-New ‘Harry Potter’ Series Announced – First Books Arriving This August

Fans of the Wizarding World have something new to look forward to—Harry Potter books are set to return later this year.

Despite the series concluding with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007, the magic has never truly faded. JK Rowling’s world of spells, mythical creatures, and heroic friendships remains a cornerstone of modern fantasy literature, inspiring generations of readers and sparking a multi-billion-dollar franchise.

Since the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 1997, the series has expanded into blockbuster films, theme park attractions at Universal Studios, and even a Broadway play. While spinoffs like Fantastic Beasts struggled to capture the same success, Harry Potter continues to be a cultural force, shaping discussions around themes of identity, prejudice, and perseverance.

However, in recent years, the franchise has also been at the center of controversy.

JK Rowling Controversy and Its Impact on the Franchise

JK Rowling, once universally beloved by fans, has become a polarizing figure due to her outspoken views on gender identity.

Since 2018, the author has repeatedly engaged in online debates, aligning herself with anti-trans rhetoric and making inflammatory statements that have alienated parts of her audience. These comments have led to heavy backlash, with some fans choosing to distance themselves from the franchise altogether.

Despite calls to boycott new Harry Potter projects—including the hit video game Hogwarts Legacy and the upcoming HBO series reboot—the Wizarding World continues to expand. Warner Bros. and Rowling’s team have pushed forward with major initiatives, and now, Bloomsbury has announced a brand-new book series that will revisit Hogwarts in a fresh way.

Pocket Potters: A New Way to Experience Harry Potter

Bloomsbury is excited to launch a brand new series of collectable mini-guides that children, new readers and superfans alike will be clamouring to get their hands on.

These books won’t introduce new stories but will instead serve as visual companions to the original seven novels, highlighting key moments, characters, and magical details.

“The books are packed full of magical illustrations, much-loved characters, and iconic Hogwarts moments that capture the humor and mischief of the magical world,” Bloomsbury shared. While intended for younger audiences, the publisher assures that older fans will find plenty of hidden details and Easter eggs to enjoy.

The first three books, focusing on Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, are set to release on August 26, 2025, in 25 languages worldwide. Additional books will follow in 2026, including one centered on Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, with more titles planned for the future.

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Rowling, the Harry Potter brand remains as powerful as ever. Whether these books will be embraced by fans or spark further debate remains to be seen—but for those still enchanted by the Wizarding World, Pocket Potters offers a new way to revisit the magic.
