Brand-New ‘Jurassic Park’ Experience Could Bring Back Site B

For all its talk of legacy, the Jurassic Park film series has narrowed its focus over the years. Isla Nublar, once the site of John Hammond’s ill-fated dream, has slowly become the series’ central hub, while other corners of the franchise have quietly faded into obscurity.

Even now, as Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) expands the map once again with the introduction of Île Saint-Hubert, one island remains conspicuously absent: Isla Sorna.

Better known as Site B, Isla Sorna was once essential to the franchise’s DNA (quite literally). After Steven Spielberg’s 1993 Jurassic Park, the series left Nublar behind entirely, relocating the action to InGen’s secondary island for both The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001).

Described as the “factory floor,” Site B was where dinosaurs were bred and nursed before being shipped to Isla Nublar.

But the second island vanished with the arrival of Jurassic World in 2015. The reboot restored Isla Nublar as the centerpiece, and Site B effectively disappeared from the films.

Even as the series expanded outward — first to the mainland in Jurassic World Dominion (2022) and now to Île Saint-Hubert in Rebirth — Sorna has remained untouched on screen.

Canon materials offer only some answers, with supplemental lore explaining that many dinosaurs were later removed from Sorna to populate Jurassic World, but the island itself has never been revisited or meaningfully explored. As such, its fate remains one of the franchise’s biggest unanswered questions.

That’s where Jurassic Park: Survival comes in. The upcoming first-person action-adventure game from Saber Interactive is set entirely on Isla Nublar, taking place just 24 hours after the events of the original film.

Players step into the role of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist left behind during the evacuation in the 1993 film, now forced to survive among free-roaming dinosaurs.

While the game’s developers have promised a “fully realized Isla Nublar,” the absence of Site B in the marketing doesn’t necessarily rule it out.

DLC expansions, narrative detours, or a secret ending that teases a sequel could provide an opportunity to finally bring Isla Sorna back into focus — even briefly.

Whether that happens or not, Jurassic Park: Survival represents one of the franchise’s best chances yet to acknowledge the island that once defined its sequels. After decades of silence, Site B may finally be due for a return.

There’s no release date for the game, but it will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
