New Immersive ‘Jurassic Park’ Experience Will Allow Guests To Explore Isla Nublar

The marketing drip for “Jurassic Park: Survival” has been slower than a sick Triceratops, but a recent update from the developers is giving the community plenty to chew on.

After a long period of silence, Universal Products & Experiences and developer Saber Interactive recently shared a behind-the-scenes update for their upcoming first-person action-adventure video game: a meeting room, a hefty “Narrative Summary” for the game in the foreground, and a pinboard of intentionally fuzzy screenshots in the back.

The post teased “an exciting day of planning” and added that “hatching up fresh ideas may take time”. Fans immediately screen-grabbed the tweet, zoomed, lightened, and declared they could see first-person Jeep headlights spanning the blurred collage.

Why the fuss? Well, the single-player game strands InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi on Isla Nublar one day after John Hammond’s dream collapsed in the original 1993 film, Jurassic Park. The official website promises a “never-before-told story” and adaptive dinosaur AI but skirts the question of traversal. An explorable island doesn’t automatically equal free-roam driving, and neither Universal nor Saber has described the project as “open world.”

However, vehicle access would fit narrative logic. The electric Jungle Explorers/Land Cruisers are locked to the visitor track in the film, but maintenance Jeeps—manual transmission with a rear-mounted spare tire—are scattered across the island’s service roads. If Joshi hopes to reach distant paddock fences or out-maneuver a Velociraptor pack or even worse, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, four wheels beat two boots.

With that said, it’s worth noting that IGN’s feature last year emphasized on-foot progress and that “the player will need to use caution and planning in some cases, checking routes in advance,” wording that feels at odds with pedal-to-the-metal escapades.

For now, players are left piecing together evidence like paleontologists. Until the next update—or a second trailer—Isla Nublar’s roads remain shrouded in digital fog.
