The ride closed back in October, months earlier than its traditional January-to-spring refurbishment window, creating immediate curiosity among Animal Kingdom guests.
The earlier closure wasn’t random. With DINOSAUR scheduled for permanent closure in February, Animal Kingdom is heading into a period where one of its most popular attractions will be removed from the park’s lineup. Reopening Kali River Rapids ahead of the holiday crowds helps maintain balance, offering guests another major experience during a season when wait times typically climb across the board.
Kali River Rapids remains one of the most immersive attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The journey starts peacefully as the raft floats under a canopy of vibrant greenery, but the calm doesn’t last long.
