A Disney vacation is one that all families around the world love. Being able to enjoy the wonderful rides and attractions on offer, like Haunted Mansion or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, is one that any family, no matter what cultural background or identity, loves the chance to have. Many times celebrities have been spotted at the Disney Parks, also enjoying the entertainment on offer. Previously, we’ve reported on Diane Keaton, the Kardashians, Rebel Wilson, John Legend, and more at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
Bruce Willis at Disneyland post dementia announcement
In February of this year, icon Bruce Willis’s family announced that the veteran actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia; the 67-year-old actor is most well-known for his roles in the 1980s and 90s in blockbuster films such as Die Hard, The Sixth Sense, Armageddon and Pulp Fiction. He became a household name and has been one of the most popular and celebrated actors of contemporary times.
When the family announced the diagnosis, they shared that “it was a relief” to know what was happening to the actor and added, “Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead.”
Recently, Bruce Willis’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, shared a video of the family, including Bruce Willis himself, enjoying a day at the Southern California Disney Park, taking in the now-closed Splash Mountain together. She shared the heart-warming video with the caption,
You bet this family will be back for more fun and laughs when you reopen as Tiana Bayou! Thanks for all the memories Splash Mountain ⛰️😅

Fans were incredibly touched and grateful to see the video, with one even mentioning they spotted the family years ago pre-Covid at Walt Disney World. Support showered in for the actor and the family through navigating his dementia diagnosis.
Of course, of note in Emma Willis’s caption is the acknowledgment of the closing of Splash Mountain and the retheme to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: it’s an announcement that has taken the Disney community by storm and has caused a divide in those who believe Disney should #saveSplashMountain and others who are more supportive of the move.
While enjoying everything Splash Mountain gave them, it appears that the Willis family is certainly ready for the new ride set to open in 2024!
