We may not talk about Bruno when we’re in Colombia or the Madrigal Casita, but now Disney Guests will finally have the chance to meet the enigmatic and endearingly-hapless character in person!
The animated movie Encanto was a huge hit when it premiered on Disney+ in 2021, partly due to its vibrantly-colorful scenery and partly due to its record-breaking soundtrack.
The song about Bruno (who is voiced by renowned actor and comedian John Leguizamo) has become famous for its catchiness, and it is now so popular that some people are actually hesitant to use the name “Bruno” for children going forward due to the Encanto reference that’s implied.
Since Encanto was such a big hit, Disney obviously has been capitalizing on its success with Character Meet and Greets featuring the protagonist Mirabel Madrigal (and Disney has even bigger plans for Encanto, too).
There was also a live concert featuring the original movie cast, which can now be watched on Disney+ — but Bruno was, sadly, left out of that concert. Bruno has also failed to show up anywhere besides the Oogie Boogie Bash…until now, that is!
In an article on the Disney Parks Blog, Disney Cruise Line has revealed that the Disney Magic cruise ship is allowing the mysterious Madrigal uncle, Bruno, to finally have his moment in the limelight (or perhaps, in his case, a tasteful lime-green light)!
According to the blog post, the Disney Magic will now offer “An Encanto Celebration” after “a three-week dry dock project in Freeport, The Bahamas.” This Enccanto event will include a meet and greet with both Mirabel and Bruno! Singalongs, crafts, and Colombian beverages will also add to the fun.
The Disney Magic is in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the moment, with Bruno reportedly onboard, and the Disney Magic cruise ship will be back in Miami for Disney cruises starting on May 24!
Are you excited to see Bruno Madrigal finally getting some love?
