Adventures by Disney trips are typically pretty pricey, but if you’re a big Encanto fan, then you might want to save up for this 2024 vacation!
The Disney Parks Blog has just announced that “Colombia, the country that inspired the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Encanto, is one of Adventures by Disney’s newest destinations”!
Beginning in 2024, guests can enjoy a “family-friendly itinerary to experience the cultures, cuisine and people that helped inspire the movie.”
Some Disney fans might not know that two of Encanto‘s creators, Byron Howard and Jared Bush, actually headed to Colombia back in 2018 to garner what inspiration they could for the new animated movie that they were planning.
Highlights of the Disney creatives’ trip included time in the Cocora Valley, time in Cartagena, and a visit to the famous Coffee Region.
Adventures by Disney has therefore curated a Disney vacation including these highlights and more!
Creative endeavors like arepa-cooking and coffee brewing will be included, but so will some excursions reminiscent of Antonio’s amazing jungle bedroom found in the Madrigals’ casita (including a hike to learn more about cotton-top tamarins and the ongoing efforts to protect them).
This particular outdoor excursion will involve a focus on Proyecto Titi, a Disney Conservation Fund project. In addition, the opportunity to snorkel in the Rosario Islands will also be on offer during this trip!
For city-dwellers who prefer less outdoorsy activities, time in Bogota’s Paloquemao Market and La Candelaria will prove to be even more fruitful. Be on the lookout for historical sights and delicious fruit!
Are you intrigued by the idea of a trip to the “crossroads of Latin America”? Would interest in the trip be due to an interest in Colombia, or an interest in Encanto?
