Halloween is coming to Disney California Adventure Park this fall, and two of the park's most popular lands are getting the spooky treatment — including a beloved seasonal overlay that has become one of the highlights of the annual Halloween Time celebration at Disneyland Resort.
Radiator Screams Returns to Cars Land
Disney Parks Blog confirmed on Tuesday that Cars Land will once again transform into Radiator Screams for the 2026 Halloween season, running from August 21 through October 31. The overlay reimagines the beloved Pixar land with automobile residents decked out in “car-stumes,” “car-achnids” lurking throughout the area, and a “pump-kin” patch adding to the festive atmosphere.
Two fan-favorite attraction overlays return alongside the area transformation. Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree brings a seasonal spin to Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters' neighboring attraction, while Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween puts a Halloween twist on the spinning ride. Each evening, Radiator Screams will offer the haunting “Sha-BOO” experience as neon lights flicker across Cars Land's streets, with a spooky soundtrack setting the mood.
Avengers Campus Gets Dark After Sundown
Avengers Campus is also joining the Halloween festivities this season. Starting in the late afternoon each day, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! becomes Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, an overlay that teams Disney Park guests up with Rocket Raccoon on a mission to distract the monsters that have gotten loose in the Collector's Fortress, saving Groot in the process.
The Full Halloween Season at Disneyland Resort
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort runs from August 21 through October 31, 2026, with Plaza de la Familia — the Día de los Muertos celebration at Disney California Adventure Park — extending through November 2. Oogie Boogie Bash, the separately ticketed after-hours Halloween party, also returns this season, with tickets going on sale June 18 and the first event on August 18.
