Disney Unveils Some Preview Dates for TRON: Lightcycle/Run

Each day brings Disney Fans closer to the long-overdue opening of the new roller coaster, TRON: Lightcycle/Run at the Walt Disney World Resort, and now some of the preview dates have finally been announced.

According to new reports, Disney World Cast Members have just learned about their exclusive preview dates.

“Cast Members can begin registering on Jan. 30 to ride Tron on preview days between Feb. 6 and March 3,” the report said. “Cast members may bring up to three friends or family members on their preview ride.”

Cast Members took to Twitter close to midnight last night to confirm that preview reservations were now open. They report extensive wait times in the virtual queue, but the consensus is that it is worth it.

Just like Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members, Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members receive word via email, where they are taken to a special portal to sign up.

We are expecting this news to be followed by the announcement of TRON previews for Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members. However, there is still no word yet on when those will come to pass. It makes sense, though, that Disney World’s daily magic makers will get to ride the new indoor/outdoor roller coaster first.

Nestled in Magic Kingdom Park’s Tomorrowland between Space Mountain, the Tomorrowland Motor Speedway, and the Walt Disney World Railroad, TRON: Lightcycle/Run is a new variant of the cutting-edge coaster first created for Shanghai Disneyland in 2016 called TRON: Lightcycle Power Run. This new Central Florida Variant was first announced in 2017, and fans have been waiting over five years for this dream to become a reality. It also promises to be one of the fastest Disney Park roller coasters ever.

Disney World describes TRON: Lightcycle/Run on its website, in part, as the following,

Climb aboard your very own Lightcycle and take off on a high-speed adventure, racing against the Grid’s most menacing Programs. Surge past your fierce opponents as you attempt to cross through 8 Energy Gates and secure your team’s victory—so you can survive to race another day.

Scheduled to open April 4, 2023, TRON Lightcycle / Run will be one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world.
