Cast Member Creates Magic for Young Guests After They Experience a Tragic Accident

Sometimes, there are some truly tragic stories we hear when it comes to the Disney Parks. While Walt Disney World Resort is most definitely “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” sometimes things can be not-so-magical. However, sometimes, the Disney magic can ease a little pain and make an unbelievably tragic situation a little easier, and that’s the kind of story we have for you today.

One former Cast Member shared a story of a time when they saw “true magic” at the Parks.

This Cast Member shared the magic they saw that had them transfer from being a VIP Tour Guide to being a character at Walt Disney World. The Cast Member shared that they were working at City Hall when two Guests came in with two little girls who were injured. It came to light that the girls had been in a horrific accident where they lost their parents, and the two older Guests were nurses who were requesting refunds because the girls, who lived abroad, needed the money to make their way back home.

While usually, as Guests would know, Disney doesn’t issue refunds, the Cast Member got special permissions to make this happen. This isn’t all. The Cast Member also got permission to be the girls’ private tour guide for the day and take them around the Parks. After enduring this kind of tragedy, the Cast Member shared that during the tour, the girls were too traumatized to enjoy any of the Parks, and they could not make the girls smile no matter what they did.

Finally, the Cast Member took them to watch the parade, where they saw real magic happen. The guide had spoken to the character Cast Members performing in the parade department prior and alerted them to the situation. The Cast Member set up a private meet and greet for them with the characters afterward. The Cast Member told the girls about this by sharing that Mickey Mouse wanted to meet them personally.

This finally brought a smile onto their faces for the first time, and slowly they began engaging. When Mickey’s float came up, Mickey managed to turn her body sideways, look at the girls, and point to Main Street,  U.S.A., and this finally resulted in them experiencing the Disney magic. They began laughing and enjoying the Disney Park.

After this, the Cast Member shared more instances of the parade performers staying dressed to meet the girls and create more magic for them. The girls started laughing and having a wonderful time.

The Cast Member shared that with all of this, what they remembered most was when the group walked by the rose garden, the older girl immediately shared how her now-late mother loved roses. The Cast Member picked her up and put her in the garden, instructing her to pick a rose. The girl happily picked a rose and didn’t say another word.

After this incident, the Cast Member immediately transferred to the character department and never looked back.

There are certainly things that can go wrong at the Disney Parks, but this unbelievable story reminded us of why the magic means so much to so many in the first place.
