A small Avengers reunion is going down at the Apple TV+ studios as Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson team up as leads for the upcoming film Project Artemis. While little is still known about the project, it appears to be a Sci-Fi flick centered around the Space Race.

According to Deadline,

“Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Chris Evans (Captain America) are set to star in buzzy new movie package Project Artemis, we can reveal, with Ozark star, director and exec-producer Jason Bateman aboard to direct… Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps but we hear the project is set against the space race. Screenplay comes from Rose Gilroy, daughter of writer-director Dan Gilroy and actress RenĂŠ Russo.”

The Captain American actor shared his excitement on Twitter on April 1:

Apple TV+ appears to have proven itself a formidable movie-making rival to Disney and its streaming service Disney+, becoming the first streaming service to have a feature film win the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 94th Oscars.

It also appears that the formerly Captain America and Black Widow have been looking for a way to team up on a project outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for some time.

Deadline further stated,

Evans and Johansson have been looking for projects to team up on following the end of their Avengers days and came close on Ghosted, another hot package that Apple scooped up. Johansson fell off after scheduling conflicts with Ana de Armas stepping in. That film is currently filming but everything works out in the end as the two A-listers and old friends get a second chance at teaming up again.

This is not the first time we have seen Marvel actors team up on other projects as Kevin Feige’s team moves away from the Avengers storyline into the Multiverse and will most likely not be the last.

Meanwhile, back at Marvel Studios, the Disney+ Original Series Moon Knight has been released, and fans are getting closer to the release of Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Chris Evans will also expand his Disney repertoire by voicing Buzz Lightyear in the upcoming Pixar film Lightyear.
