The Festival of The Lion King remained shuttered with all of the other live entertainment due to pandemic-inspired restrictions as the rest of the Most Magical Place On Earth came back to life. It eventually returned to the Harambe Theatre but in a limited capacity called “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King.” Since that “Celebration” opened with a few things missing, including this returning gymnastics routine performed a remix of the Lion King staple, “Hakuna Matata.” It is unclear at this time if all of the Pride Landsdancers will be returning with them this summer or not.

Dazzling Disney Park Guests for years, Festival of the Lion King is a fun, interactive stage show that welcomes Guests of all ages to Pride Rock. Disney describes this fan-favorite show on its website as the following:

Join the inhabitants of the Pride Lands for a grand gala in honor of Simba, the lion cub who would be king.

As the lights dim, hear the sounds of the African savanna. A kinetic kaleidoscope of color floods the stage as colossal puppets, extravagantly costumed dancers, and incredible stilt walkers dazzle the senses.

During spectacular theatrics, you’ll relive all the classic songs from The Lion King, including “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” The spectacular finale includes a soaring rendition of “Circle of Life.”

It’s a moving and immersive theatrical experience celebrating music that has touched generations of Disney fans—and a festival you’ll want to be part of again and again!

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to keep an eye on this developing story and will update our readers as more information comes to light.
