Disney Guests rejoice! Disney has confirmed that a Disney Park visit has just become less complicated.
Both the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are renowned destinations for an exceptional Disney vacation. A visit to either of these resorts is an unforgettable experience worth sharing with loved ones. The enchanting attractions and experiences offered, such as Cinderella Castle and Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland Park, Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and immersive lands like Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park, contribute to the undeniable appeal of these magical Disney vacation hot spots.

But some parts of the Disney experience have not always been beloved by fans, namely, the Theme Park reservation system. Fans have been incredibly frustrated with the system since it was introduced during the pandemic era. To enter one of the parks, in addition to valid admission, each Guest is required to make a Theme Park reservation via the Disney Park Pass system. Guests could modify their reservation, but only if there was availability at the Parks; it’s one that made it so that during the busy season, including the summer—Guests haven’t been able to book reservations at some of their favorite Disney Parks.
Disney Theme Park journalist Scott Gustin took to Twitter to share the news. Starting Wednesday, May 17, “Disneyland Resort will make it possible for guests to MODIFY park reservations to a different date and/or park without having to cancel and rebook.”
At present, Guests first have to cancel their park reservation before selecting a new Disney Park or date.
In a later tweet, he added, “This change includes Magic Key holders – but the current one-day/11:59 pm night before rule still applies. No same-day “modify” for Magic Key.”

While this is undoubtedly welcome news, many fans were less than impressed. One shared, “I mean if I went slightly later in the day I could just go to the other park anyway, being able to cancel same day is what we want..”
Another corroborated this sentiment, “I like it but frankly I can’t see the huge benefit and relief. It’s like 2 or 3 extra clicks. All of 30 seconds or so. Is everyone shuffling their ressies that much? Interesting….”
While we haven’t heard the news of any further changes in this vein yet, Disney is clearly listening to fans; perhaps these other modifications are also no longer far behind.
