When you think of fall, candy corn is definately something that comes to mind. This classic treat inspired us to make these adorable Mickey-shaped Candy Corn Cookies from Disney Family.
These cookies are simple to make but also fun and festive for the whole family. And who doesn’t love a treat that is Mickey shaped!
Ingredients
- -Shortbread or sugar cookie dough
- -Rolling pin
- -Orange and yellow food coloring
- -Mickey cookie cutter
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Divide your dough in thirds. Dye one third of the dough yellow by mixing in yellow food coloring. Dye another third of dough orange by mixing in orange food coloring.
Roll out each third of dough between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper, to about ⅓-inch thick. Cut strips of dough, with each strip wide enough to be at least ⅓ the size of your cookie cutter. For example, my Mickey cookie cutter was about 3½-inches, so each of my strips were about 1¼-inch wide.
Place three strips of dough next to each other, with the plain-colored dough on top, the orange dough in the middle, and the yellow dough on the bottom. Roll slightly to press strips together.
Cut out Mickey shapes with a cookie cutter. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Chilling will keep the dough spread less.
Place cookies on lined cookie sheets. Bake for 10–12 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!
