As spring comes into its own and summer begins to approach, prom will be on the minds of many parents and high schoolers. This end-of-the-school-year dance is considered to be one of the highlights of the high school experience, and many movies have already been made about it.
Now Disney+ has made its own high school prom movie, and the movie has gotten a surprising response from viewers — but unfortunately, one part of the movie has actually terrified Disney Channel audiences and Disney+ subscribers!
The new Disney Channel Original Movie is called Prom Pact, and it focuses on high school senior Mandy Yang (played by Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and her best friend Ben (played by Disney darling and ZOMBIES star Milo Manheim).
As prom and the end of her senior year approach, Mandy decides to bite the bullet and get close to the one person in her school who can help her get into Harvard: athlete Graham Lansing (played by Blake Draper).
This movie’s sex scenes might have caught some attention, but now one eagle-eyed viewer has pointed out another attention-grabbing scene in the movie — one that Disney probably was not aiming for!
While watching the movie, TikTok user @kelseykid_ noticed that something seemed off. Upon closer inspection, they realized that the ‘crowd’ in the bleachers during a pep rally scene were actually just digital versions of humans!
@kelseykid_ super excited to watch Prom Pact on Disney+ and then saw this 😵💫😵💫😵💫 still gonna watch it though.
Both the TikTok user and those who commented on the post expressed horror and discomfort with the sight. You can clearly see the fake background extras in the second row of the bleachers, right behind real actors — and as one person pointed out, they look disturbingly similar to Sims computer game characters or video game characters!
One TikTok user actually pointed out that this happened in the Disney Descendants movies, too! “Why didn’t they just get more extras?” one person complained.
Two people actually revealed that they were two of the real extras in this “bone-chilling” scene, and that background actors were not told during the shoot that more people were going to be added digitally — and perhaps even be added right next to them (which seems a bit reminiscent of a certain ghostly Haunted Mansion experience)!
Did you notice these CGI background actors when you first watched the Prom Pact movie on Disney Channel or Disney+? Do you regret seeing them now that you have?
