EPCOT is no stranger to special events, but Disney has just unveiled a new experience that is likely to grab the attention of some of the park's most dedicated fans.
Set to take place on July 14, the newly announced event centers entirely on the Mexico Pavilion and offers guests a deep dive into the location's history, food, beverages, and connection to Disney history. The experience is being offered through D23, Disney's official fan club, and combines exclusive tastings, collectibles, and a curated meal into one afternoon package.

While Disney regularly hosts festivals and seasonal offerings throughout EPCOT, events of this nature are much less common. That's especially true when they focus so heavily on a single World Showcase pavilion.
For fans who have long considered the Mexico Pavilion one of EPCOT's most immersive destinations, this may be one of the most unique opportunities Disney has offered in recent years.
A Special Event Built Around Mexico Pavilion History
Officially titled “The Mexico Pavilion: A Taste of History – A D23 Experience at EPCOT,” the event is scheduled for July 14 and will run from approximately 12:45 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The experience is available exclusively to D23 Gold Members and is designed to showcase both the cultural influences and Disney history connected to the pavilion.
Participants will begin with a private guided tasting led by La Cava del Tequila's Humberto Soto. During the tasting, guests will sample six premium agave spirits while learning more about the traditions and craftsmanship behind each selection.
The tasting experience also includes chips and guacamole, along with several commemorative souvenirs created specifically for the event.
Disney fans who enjoy collecting limited-edition merchandise will likely find plenty to appreciate. Attendees receive an exclusive Agave Connoisseur Club pin and a commemorative tequila cocktail glass featuring the La Cava del Tequila logo.
Exclusive Drinks and Disney History
Following the tasting, guests will move into a cocktail experience that blends Disney history with the pavilion's beverage program.
One of the featured drinks, The Aztec Eagle, was created in collaboration with the Walt Disney Archives. The cocktail honors Walt Disney's 1943 visit to Mexico, during which he received the Order of the Aztec Eagle from the Mexican government.
Guests will also be among the first to sample a new Anniversary Old Fashioned celebrating La Cava del Tequila's 17th anniversary.
To commemorate the experience, attendees will receive another collectible item in the form of a stainless-steel beverage sphere etched with the number 23.
The focus on history is one of the aspects that separates this event from many of Disney's standard food and beverage offerings. Rather than simply serving specialty drinks, Disney appears to be tying the experience directly to stories connected to both Walt Disney and the Mexico Pavilion itself.
A Meal Inspired by EPCOT's Opening Year
The final portion of the event takes place at San Angel Inn.
Disney says the restaurant will offer a specially curated tasting menu inspired by dishes that have been part of the restaurant's history through the decades. The meal also traces the story of San Angel Inn back to its origins in Mexico City before eventually becoming one of EPCOT's opening-day dining locations in 1982.
Guests will select an appetizer, entrée, and dessert from the exclusive menu and receive a margarita based on the original recipe served at the Mexico City restaurant.
Perhaps one of the most interesting keepsakes included with the experience is a replica of the original 1982 San Angel Inn menu. For longtime EPCOT fans, that item alone could become one of the most memorable souvenirs offered during the event.

What About Regular EPCOT Guests?
One question many visitors may have is whether the event will impact access to the Mexico Pavilion.
At this point, Disney has not announced any pavilion-wide closures associated with the experience. Guests can still make dining reservations at San Angel Inn on July 14, suggesting that the restaurant is expected to continue normal operations alongside the event.
That doesn't mean there won't be some temporary restrictions in specific areas. Disney frequently hosts private experiences while maintaining general guest access to surrounding spaces.
For now, there is no indication that regular EPCOT visitors will lose access to the pavilion itself.
Tickets Go on Sale This Week
Fans interested in attending won't have much time to decide.
Tickets go on sale Friday, June 12, giving D23 Gold Members just over a month before the event takes place.
Whether guests are drawn by the tequila tasting, the exclusive collectibles, the historical presentation, or simply the chance to experience the Mexico Pavilion in a different way, Disney's newest EPCOT offering is shaping up to be one of the resort's most specialized events of the summer.
For a pavilion that has remained one of EPCOT's most beloved destinations for decades, July 14 could provide a rare opportunity to experience its story from an entirely new perspective.
