Walt Disney World in Florida has two amazing water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. However, someone should probably tell one guest that EPCOT’s World Showcase is not a third option.

Recently, a man was filmed plunging into EPCOT Lagoon near the Italian Pavilion at the popular park. Crowds watched in shock as the visitor disregarded Disney rules and turned the World Showcase into his own personal water park.

EPCOT’s World Showcase

EPCOT’s World Showcase, a distinctive part of the EPCOT theme park in Walt Disney World, offers visitors a unique journey through the cultures of eleven different nations. Positioned around the EPCOT Lagoon, this captivating area provides a unique opportunity to explore a diverse range of countries, including Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, and more.

Each nation boasts its own pavilion, where guests can experience the art, cuisine, and entertainment of that particular culture. For instance, in the United Kingdom Pavilion, you can visit a charming English village, complete with a traditional British pub.

In contrast, in the Japan Pavilion, you can enjoy authentic sushi and explore traditional Japanese architecture and gardens. The centerpiece of this popular destination is the EPCOT Lagoon, where nighttime spectaculars such as EPCOT Forever and Harmonious have unfolded, captivating visitors with a breathtaking display of music, fireworks, and light.

Poor Guest Behavior at EPCOT

In recent years, the drinking culture at EPCOT, often referred to as “Drinking Around the World,” has gained notoriety. The concept involves sampling alcoholic beverages from the various countries represented in the World Showcase, and it has become a popular pastime among adult visitors.

However, this trend has raised concerns, as some guests have taken the indulgence to an extreme, leading to incidents of unruly behavior and public intoxication.

Reports of guests engaging in disruptive activities, such as excessive loudness, property damage, or confrontations with other visitors, have been on the rise. This has led to frustration among Disney fans who believe that such incidents tarnish the family-friendly atmosphere for which the Disney parks are known.

Man Jumps into EPCOT Lagoon

While it is unknown if alcohol was the culprit, a recent video surfacing on TikTok has caused a stir among Disney fans.

A guest was filmed hanging on to a bridge at the Italian Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase near the gondola station. Crowds of onlookers gathered as the man shouted to people and looked down at the water.

People told the man to get down from the bridge and warned him that he would probably be kicked out of the park. However, the guest took the plunge and fell right into EPCOT Lagoon.

As the crowds looked on in disbelief, the man surfaced and swam to a nearby gondola. He pulled himself up and raised his arms in the air to get cheers from the onlookers.

Don’t Do This

Needless to say, this is not something you should do at EPCOT. Disney is serious about guest safety, and this particular visitor purposely put himself in danger.

We can’t know for sure if alcohol was involved, but it seems likely, given the absurdity of the situation. While the guest was not injured, Disney could ban him from the property if it sees fit.

Furthermore, this behavior was done in full view of children. Hopefully, they understand that this is not acceptable in a public theme park.

It is unknown if Disney World took action against this visitor. However, jumping into EPCOT Lagoon for a quick stunt doesn’t seem worth getting banned from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdon.
