Disney Imagineers have had some Pixar tricks up their sleeves for the past year, and Disney officially announced that they’ll come to fruition this winter.

On June 23, 2018, the Disneyland Resort cut the ribbon on Pixar Pier at the Disney California Adventure Park. Formerly Paradise Pier, the nod to Disney’s flagship films, became a household space in the west coast Park. Featuring family-favorite flicks like Toy StoryInside Out, and The Incredibles, Pixar Pier became an instant hit among Disney fans.

With 26 feature films produced by Pixar since its debut with Toy Story in 1995, Pixar taps into the hearts of kids and parents who have fallen in love with some of Disney’s most relatable characters. Pixar Pier was a welcome addition, and Disneyland President Ken Potrock announced even more Pixar fun was on the horizon at the 2022 D23 expo—this time, in the form of an all-new Resort.

Potrock shared Disney’s plans to retheme the Paradise Pier Hotel to match its Woody-themed land next door. The Resort revamp also an effort to improve the Guest experience, including an exclusive entrance to Disney’s California Adventure Park. Disney Parks Blogs shared details about the plans:

Guests got a first look at the Resort’s plans through concept art shared by Disney, including a life-sized depiction of Pixar’s iconic lamp in the lobby. A sneak peek of the Resort highlights Pixar favorites like Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., Toy Story, and more.
