It’s World Princess Week right now, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on the celebrations, as well as which mystery princess gets the lucky honor every day. So far Princess Tiana, Cinderella, and Moana have all been featured, with special events, desserts, and merchandise on their respective magical days! But what goes into these events? Disney has released an interview with its Cast Members, as well as two staff members from Disney Consumer Products, showing some of the people that take part in creating something like this ‘holiday’.

Disney Cast Members were interviewed from around the globe and asked about their favorite Disney princesses. Tomas from Disneyland Paris praised Merida from Brave for her “strong character”, while Disneyland’s Hilary admired Cinderella’s “good heart” in the face of challenges. Disney World’s Lisa-Mae felt a kinship with Tiana due to her Louisiana background, and Disneyland Paris’s Cedric is fond of Mulan “because she’s so brave and courageous”.

Heather, a Senior Licensing Manager and one of the two interviewees from Disney Consumer Products, works on the “footwear and accessories” for Disney Animation, Pixar, and Princess properties. Adam is on the communications team with CPGP, and also specializes in the same three types of properties, but primarily focuses on procuring media attention for Disney campaigns through arrangements with “Good Morning America, Yahoo, Pop Sugar, and so many others”. As Heather showed samples of the footwear that she’s played a part in producing, she emphasized that “people really love to see their favorite brand combining with Disney”.

People also love to see Disney princesses’ voice actresses doing public events, and Adam played a part in organizing events like readings of the new book “Tales of Courage and Kindness” (read by Tangled’s Mandy Moore who voiced Rapunzel, Moana’s Auli’i Cravalho, and The Princess and the Frog‘s Anika Noni Rose).  Adam expressed gratitude for working with such “talent”, and confirmed that they were all “just really a great experience to work with”.

Adam also highlighted the importance of this event during a particularly difficult time, with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to worsen, saying that “Being able to celebrate the Disney Princess characters and their shared attributes of courage and kindness is what we need now more than ever.” This interview is the fourth video in Disney’s #DisneyCastLife series on Youtube, and was hosted by Disney Ambassadors. Have you been tuning into the #DisneyCastLife series or the #UltimatePrincessCelebration for World Princess Week, and who do you think will be the next chosen princess? Will it be Princess Jasmine, or perhaps one of the earliest Disney princesses like Snow White or Sleeping Beauty’s Princess Aurora? Disney did just release this Tweet, hinting that The Little Mermaid, also known as Ariel, might be next!
