Passengers boarding the Disney Treasure on Saturday for a seven-day Caribbean voyage quickly discovered that one of the ship's most beloved attractions wasn't going anywhere — and neither, it seems, is any compensation offer from Disney Cruise Line.
The Problem Spotted on Departure Day

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @bryan_blk631 was among the first to document the issue, sharing a photo on May 23 — the day the Disney Treasure set sail for the Virgin Islands and Castaway Cay — that showed Disney cast members working on a partially disassembled AquaMouse water coaster on the ship's deck:
looks like we're stuck here for awhile, on the Disney Treasure. the aquamouse fell apart

AquaMouse is one of the defining features of the Disney Treasure, Disney Wish, and Disney Destiny. The Mickey Mouse-themed water coaster launches guests through a series of darkened passageways in large inflated tubes, with animated cartoon shorts, lighting, music, and special effects built into the experience as the ride soars out over the ocean. It consistently ranks among the most popular onboard attractions on ships that carry it.

The damage wasn't something Disney cast members could patch up quickly. Shortly after the initial post, @bryan_blk631 returned to X with a discouraging update following a notice from Disney Cruise Line:
just got a notice that it might be closed this entire trip

Waiting for Help That Hasn't Come

By Sunday, passengers were still riding out the uncertainty on two fronts — whether AquaMouse would reopen before the May 30 disembarkation, and whether Disney Cruise Line would make it right financially. @bryan_blk631 updated followers again:
we're waiting to see if it opens today

The absence of any compensation offer has been a particular point of frustration. When the Ironcycle Test Run roller coaster aboard the Disney Adventure failed to open during the ship's inaugural voyages, Disney Cruise Line responded by issuing onboard credit directly to affected passengers' staterooms. Guests on the current Disney Treasure sailing have seen no equivalent gesture despite losing access to one of the ship's headline attractions for what appears to be the entirety of a seven-night voyage.

Disney Cruise Line has not publicly acknowledged the AquaMouse malfunction or addressed what, if anything, it plans to offer affected passengers. The question of whether the water coaster will be operational for the Disney Treasure's next sailing — a Western Caribbean itinerary departing May 30 with stops in Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman Island; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Disney's Castaway Cay — also remains unanswered.
