Magic Kingdom Attraction Transforms Into a Character Meet & Greet

More and more experiences are returning from Walt Disney World’s phased reopening which began in the summer of 2020. With the return of Disney experiences, there are some making a comeback but in a slightly new way. One Magic Kingdom attraction has been transformed into a character meet and greet.

We’re seeing the return of Magic Kingdom favorites such as the Festival of Fantasy Parade and character meet and greets that offer hugs rather than 6-feet of physical distancing. With the additions, there are a few experiences still missing, one being Enchanted Tales with Belle in the Fantasyland portion of Magic Kingdom Park.

Enchanted Tales with Belle located near Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was considered an attraction but was really an intimate show experience that involved Disney Guests in the retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast (1991) story. While this “tale as old as time” may not have made its comeback just yet, Disney has welcomed Princess Belle for a new character meet and greet experience.

@wdwmickeyhunter shared a tweet on May 1, 2022, noting “Belle meets inside her cottage at Enchanted Tales with Belle” with the following photo:

With Belle greeting Guests in her cottage near Beast’s Castle holding Be Our Guest Restaurant, it leaves us curious if Enchanted Tales with Belle will ever make a return?

@ResortsGal also took to Twitter on May 15, 2022, to note the new character meet and greet with the following photo:

As stunning as sweet Belle is, we’re eager for the Disney experience of Enchanted Tales with Belle to return. Disney notes the experience as “Temporarily Unavailable” with an attraction description including:

“Step into Belle and Maurice’s quaint country cottage and marvel at the charming decor. Next, tour Maurice’s workshop, where you’ll see his inventive gadgets—and a special enchanted mirror the Beast gave to Belle. Say the magic words and the mirror comes to life! Watch the story of how Belle and the Beast met, and then behold the walls disappear before your eyes as you are magically transported to the Beast’s castle.”

“Meet the Enchanted Wardrobe, who will help selected participants prepare for their role. Which of you will play the Beast? Guests of all ages may volunteer! Take your places inside the Beast’s splendid library, where Lumière the talking candlestick directs the action. When Belle appears, you’ll get a chance to play your part in her fairytale story—or just cheer along as you observe the fun!”

The interaction with Belle and the small group of Guests part of the experience was one of the most intimate Disney Princess and Cast Member moments available at Walt Disney World Resort. It would be great to keep the Princess meet and greets at Princess Fairytale Hall nearby instead of taking an attraction space. We have incredible memories with the family at Enchanted Tales with Belle and hope Disney has plans to return the experience soon.

About Mike and Jamie Sylvester

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 16 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
