Disney Fans Speak Out Against Theme Park Reservations Again

Disney Theme Park Reservation System

Whether or not these were executive decisions from Bob Iger or not, there have appeared to be a lot of changes happening at Disney Parks since he took the reigns back from now-former Disney CEO Bob Chapek. But one change that fans continue to demand is the elimination of the detested Theme Park Reservation System.

Disney Park Pass Reservations

Ever since Disney World and Disneyland reopened after the Covid shutdown, Theme Park Reservations have been a requirement for every visit and have led to the continued restriction of the Park Hopping Option. The Theme Park Reservations have also played a role in restricting which Guests can join the virtual queue for new attractions as well.

Disney Fanatic recently reported that Disney Parks is making strides to alleviate this issue by allowing earlier Park Hopping at Disneyland and freeing Disney World Annual Passholders from having to make a reservation after a certain time of day for certain Parks. But Fans still want it gone for good.

@disneyglimpses, for example, outright said,

“End. The. Park. Pass. Reservation. System. We all agree that Disney has made too many changes of the last 3 years; almost all of which are incredibly unpopular. But I think the park reservation system is the worst offender of all. It completely changes the landscape of a Disney World vacation and everything it means.”

@WizardShengo, also spoke for those fans frustrated with Disney’s apparent need to digitize and optimize everything about a Disney Park vacation, saying,

“Helping set up to go with my family to Disney World. Their whole park and ride reservation system on their app is cool, but how tf was my 60 year old mom supposed to figure this out? All these codes and friends lists, it’s like trying to set up a Counter-Strike server.”

Disney has continued to defend the Theme Park Reservation system, saying that it not only helps with crowd control but also supposedly increases the quality of each Guest’s experience. But something doesn’t appear to add up.

Disney Park Guests have had to arguably pay more for less, as the price for a Park Hopper Ticket at Disneyland and Walt Disney World has gone up while the restrictions have significantly limited their ability to take full advantage of the Park Hopper Option. Meanwhile, Annual Passhodler protests have also broken out as the need for a Park Pass Reservation on top of the valid Theme Park Ticket essentially created more blockout dates than was advertised due to the sudden lack of Park Availability.

It is unclear if Disney will ever get rid of its Theme Park Reservation System for Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disneyland Paris, and Walt Disney Studios Park.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Parks news and stories as more developments come to light.
