Disney Guest Accused of Line-Cutting, Claims They Didn’t Do Anything Wrong

The magic of Walt Disney World Resort is built on shared joy—from the charm of Main Street, U.S.A. to the spectacular view of fireworks over Cinderella Castle. But even the most magical places sometimes face very human moments. That was the case on July 2, when a simple morning bus ride became the subject of a heated online debate.

A guest traveling from Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios reported a tense encounter after boarding a bus ahead of a group that had been standing near the front of the line with a stroller. According to the post, the group was struggling to fold their stroller and had stepped slightly aside. Seizing the apparent opening, the guest and their two children boarded the bus—without making any physical contact.

Shortly after they found space, however, the group’s companions, who were already onboard, began confronting the guest, claiming they had “shoved” past them and skipped the line. The situation grew uncomfortable, despite the guest’s calm attempt to explain that it’s common practice on Disney transport to fill open space efficiently. One of the group’s husbands finally stepped in to calm things down, reminding his wife that this was not setting the best example.

The story, which was shared just hours ago, quickly ignited responses online—more than 130 comments at the time of publication—and the consensus was nearly unanimous in support of the original poster.

A former cast member using the handle Colt_kun wrote: “This is what we want you to do. Keep the line moving! They can’t hold up the line because they weren’t prepared. The whole party should have waited TBH.”

Another user, ghost_of_apaol, chimed in: “They should’ve been ready with the stroller when it was their turn… But the ladies were way out of line.”

From pHpositive: “You didn’t cut. I direct others around these guests all the time. This is the hold up for the buses everywhere.”

And Smasher31232 offered a personal take: “You’re in the right. As someone who recently forgot to fold his stroller before getting on the bus, the idea that people would wait behind me is slightly mortifying.”

Instances like this, while rare, aren’t without precedent. Just last year, guests near Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom were caught in a physical altercation. Similar behavior has surfaced at global Disney locations, including Disneyland Paris, where an argument over line etiquette led to a confrontation requiring cast member assistance.

Moments of friction can also emerge during Disney’s most popular nighttime events, when families gather early to secure spots for shows like Happily Ever After or parades. Saving space for others, though discouraged by Disney’s guidelines, can lead to misunderstandings and frustration—especially during crowded evenings.

Navigating large crowds, coping with Florida’s summer heat, and managing expectations can sometimes turn even small moments into major stressors. And while Walt Disney World remains a beacon of storytelling and imagination, it also brings together people from all walks of life—with different ideas of what’s fair.

Whether it’s a question of etiquette or just a fluke misunderstanding, these moments prompt reflection. Was this guest in the wrong—or just trying to make the most of the day?

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
