A recent TikTok video featured an exceptional costume that fooled visitors at Tokyo Disney Resort. A guest dressed as Queen Elsa from the Disney Princess film Frozen (2013) showcased her stunning outfit in the newly launched Fantasy Springs area.
The TikTok user, known as @magicalllily, attracted significant attention as she posed for videos throughout the Disney park. Some social media users remarked on the authenticity of her appearance, noting that they mistook her for the Disney cast member playing Elsa.

One TikTok comment read, “I was taking pictures with Anna and Elsa and couldn’t talk to [the TikToker], but my mother asked which one was real.”

Disney’s Costume Rules for Guests
Overview of Costume Policies at Disney Parks
Disney parks maintain a structured approach to handling costumes worn by guests, especially adults. The overarching rules vary by location, yet they share key commonalities, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all visitors. Generally, adult guests are prohibited from dressing in costumes, a regulation designed to prevent confusion among children who might mistake a costumed adult for an actual Disney character.

While the primary rule prohibits adult costumes, some exceptions are made for special events. Guests looking to embrace the magic of Disney while donning elaborate outfits often find avenues to do so during designated periods, such as Halloween celebrations.
Exceptions During Halloween Seasons and Events
Despite the general restrictions on adult costumes, Disney parks embrace the Halloween season for guests of all ages. Events such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort and Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland Resort allow grown-up guests to express their creativity through costumes.

At Tokyo Disney Resort, adults aged 12 and older are usually prohibited from dressing in costume, but rules relax during Halloween festivities. Guests are allowed to wear select costumes from September 30 to November 7. Dress code guidelines specify eligible characters, which include the Disney Princess characters and others from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen.
