Disney Just Confirmed a Wave of Hotel Changes, and Fall Guests Are Going to Feel It

Disney World is quietly reshaping its hotel lineup this fall, and guests with reservations on the books will want to pay attention. Ten separate resort areas have confirmed changes rolling out over the coming months, spanning room refurbishments, major construction projects, restaurant closures, and one mysterious new lounge that has BoardWalk fans talking. Some of it is good news. Some of it means jackhammers outside your window.

Here is everything confirmed.

The Disney Refurbishments Bringing Noise

All-Star Movies kicked off room refurbishments in May with work stretching all the way to late January 2027. Animal Kingdom Lodge just wrapped its Kidani Village project and immediately pivoted to Jambo House, where construction runs through January 2027. And Port Orleans Riverside takes the endurance prize, with room refurbishments rotating through different sections of the resort until August 2027.

Guests booked at any of these should brace for construction sounds and blocked-off areas, or consider pivoting to sister resorts like All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, or Port Orleans French Quarter.

The Construction That Won't Quit

The Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower have some of the longest timelines on property, with Main Tower Atrium work and Bay Lake Tower construction running through late 2027, plus exterior maintenance that may compromise views around the resort.

Wilderness Lodge is in transition mode ahead of its new Disney Vacation Club addition, Lakeshore Lodge. Exterior refurbishments at the Lodge and Copper Creek continue through late 2026, and an expanded security kiosk project through mid-October will result in occasional lane closures at the entrance.

Grand Floridian work, including the covered entrance, continues into early 2027. Yacht Club exterior maintenance runs through year's end, while Beach Club work stretches through late 2027.

The Dining Shakeups at Disney

Two heavy hitters are dark right now or about to be. Grand Floridian Cafe closes mid-July and does not return until later this fall, leaving Citricos brunch as the go-to alternative. Yachtsman Steakhouse has been closed since early May with a tentative early September comeback, pushing steak-seekers toward Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary or Ale and Compass nearby.

Then there is the wildcard. A new lounge called Hurly-Burly is confirmed for late 2026, promising fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre. Disney has not said where it is going, but the concept art and footprint point strongly toward the old Jellyrolls building, which has sat in limbo since the beloved piano bar closed last year.

Where the News Is Actually Good

Saratoga Springs is the bright spot on the list. Treehouse Villas construction wraps in late September, the Turf Club Lounge reopens in late August, and the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course returns this fall following a full greens refurbishment and irrigation upgrades.

The takeaway for anyone with a fall reservation: cross-check your resort against this list now, because the difference between a peaceful vacation and a construction-adjacent one comes down to knowing what you are walking into.
