Mass Stabbings at Concerts Across France, Disneyland Music Festival Continues

Despite the reports of mass stabbings at concerts across France this weekend, Disneyland Paris Resort’s Music Festival continued without disruption, drawing thousands of guests to enjoy the park’s inaugural event.

Over the weekend, more than 145 people were reported to have been pricked or stabbed with syringes at various concerts during the Fête de la Musique celebrations held across the country. At least 13 incidents occurred in Paris, raising concerns among millions of visitors. However, Disneyland Paris Resort operated as planned, unaffected by the nationwide scare.

The first-ever Disney Music Festival, which began in April, runs until September. It features live concerts and musical encounters with Walt Disney Animation and Pixar characters, spread across various Disneyland Park areas, including Discoveryland, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Main Street, U.S.A. The performances cover a wide range of genres, from classical to pop, rock, folk, and electronic music. As expected at a Disney Park event, exclusive merchandise and themed food and beverage options are also part of the experience.

While Disneyland Paris Resort continued to celebrate with its music festival, France was grappling with a string of troubling incidents at public concerts. The victims, many of whom were teenagers, reported feeling unwell after being injected or pricked with syringes. Some were taken to the hospital for toxicology tests, though authorities have not confirmed whether substances such as Rohypnol or GHB were involved.

The police arrested 12 suspects across the country in connection with the stabbings, including a group of four individuals in Angoulême who were allegedly responsible for over 50 of the incidents. One 20-year-old man in Metz, who had a history of violent behavior, was also arrested.

Despite these chaotic events across France, Disneyland Paris Resort remained unaffected. Disneyland Park reached capacity on Monday evening and closed its gates, but this was unrelated to the violence that had unfolded. Both Walt Disney Studios Park and Disney Village continued to operate as usual.
