Disney is releasing a new children’s book—but the franchise it’s inspired by has many fans unhappy with the Mouse House.

A recent announcement from the Walt Disney Company has some fans shocked and has the Mouse House on the receiving end of a fair amount of backlash. The company shared that they were going to be taking a franchise that inspired what is commonly agreed to be one of Disney’s scariest rides and turning it into a children’s book.

The move might inspire some excitement, but has many fans incredibly unhappy with Disney.

“Disney is the king of not having any original ideas. They did this with Star Wars and Percy Jackson and ok the other live action films,” one fan commented.

“It’s just wild that anyone would consider doing this,” another person wrote.

A third added, “Not a great idea because it might make kids want to see the movies.”

In Alien—Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror moviethe crew of a spacecraft, Nostromo, intercepts a distress signal from a planet and sets out to investigate it. However, they are suddenly attacked by an alien that later invades their ship.

The movie led to the creation of a franchise with five more movies. Now, Disney is also reviving the franchise with a new movie set to release in August 2024, Alien: Romulus.
