In what has been a disappointing year for Disney Parks, especially regarding its lack of 2022 accolades, it looks like at least one element of Disney Parks is still worthy of the title “Best.”
Park World Excellence Awards has named Disneyland Paris’ new drone show “Disney D-Light” the “Best Live Entertainment of the Year.”
In order to qualify for any of the Park World Excellence Awards,
Theme Parks, Water Parks and Family/Indoor Entertainment Centres must be in the EMEA region to be eligible.
Only rides, attractions, live events or product that opened or became available (or are going to open or become available) in the EMEA region between 1 September 2021 – 10 July 2022 are eligible.
Every category is open to every member of the industry. If you are a theme park, amusement park, water park or family/indoor entertainment centre in the EMEA region, go ahead and enter the category that best describes your facility.
The EMEA region includes Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
This award would be welcomed news to Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, especially after the ranking of its Parks and Resorts in the United States. We at Disney Fanatic had recently reported that Disneyland and Walt Disney World had lost their “Best Theme Park” Status this year as all six Theme Parks and two water parks were left off of USA Today’s list of Best Theme Parks in 2022. More on “Disney D-Light”
Created especially to celebrate Disneyland Paris’ 30th Anniversary, “Disney D-Light” is a brand new nighttime spectacular that features scores of synchronized drones illuminating around Sleeping Beauty Castle to the new song, “Un Monde Qui S’Illumine.”
Disneyland Paris describes the show on its website as the following:
As night falls, prepare to be amazed by a brand-new magical show with spectacular drone light choreography that illuminates the sky over Sleeping Beauty Castle as if by magic, followed by the spectacular Disney Illuminations.
It’s the perfect way to end a 30th Anniversary day!
For those who cannot visit Parc Disneyland to see the drone show for themselves, here is a video:
