Disney Parades 101 – Where They Are And Why You Can’t Miss Them!

Parades at Walt Disney World have been a major part of the Disney experience since the parks opened. Please see the list below for the current parades at Walt Disney World and why they are worth taking the time to stop and enjoy!

3. Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party: The Move It! Shake It! Dance & Place it! Street party happens in the Magic Kingdom. This parade turns into a party as it travels down Main Street, USA and stops for en epic party right in front of Cinderella’s castle. This parade showcases many of our favorite Disney characters including: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Stitch, Chip and Dale and many more! There are also amazing cast members dressed in colorful costumes that help start the dance party in front of the castle. This parade and party is a great time. If you like to use social media you can take pictures during the event and post it using #MoveitShakeitPics and possibly been seen on the big screens of the parade floats! This parade happens several times a day: 11:00 am, 12:30 pm and 5:40 pm. This parade and party lasts for 35 minutes. It is a definite must see and with 3 show times you can work it into your schedule to enjoy this energetic and fun time!

2. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade: Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade happens everyday at 3:00 p.m. in the Magic Kingdom. This breathtaking parade celebrates Fantasyland and showcases our favorite characters in creative and magical ways! The parade showcases the magic of Fantasyland and its’ inhabitants. The floats in this parade are state of the art and interactive. Characters that you will see staring in this parade are Elsa, Anna, Cinderella, Belle and many, many more. The floats showcase characters such as Ariel, Peter Pan, Merida, Rapunzel and many more. The showstopper of this parade is Maleficent as a real size, fire breathing clockwork dragon! This parade is a must see for people at the Magic Kingdom. Since this parade only occurs once a day it’s a good idea to find a spot early as spots can fill up quickly along the parade route. Don’t miss this incredible parade!

1. The Main Street Electrical Parade: Main Street’s Electrical parade is a classic Magic Kingdom experience. This parade happens twice at night at 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Tinkerbell starts the lights for this parade and half a million lights come to life. This amazing spectacle of lights lasts for over 20 minutes. Not only will this parade dazzle you with the lighted floats but you can also find characters such as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Pete’s Dragon and many more. Make sure to check the weather for this parade. If there is inclement weather the show can be delayed or cancelled. This is another very popular parade so we would recommend finding spots early and waiting for the parade to start.

These are the parades that are currently happening at Walt Disney World. Take time during your trip to see at least one, if not all 3! They are magical experiences!
