Few snacks at Disney parks have inspired the kind of devotion reserved for Mickey-shaped waffles.
But at one park, that popularity has created long lines stretching well past breakfast hours, leading to operational changes at one of the resort’s busiest food locations.
Long Waits Spark Change at Disney Park
The Great American Waffle Co., located just off World Bazaar, has long been a draw for guests looking for freshly cooked waffles topped with fruit and whipped cream.

Wait times for the Tokyo Disneyland quick-service spot can run longer than those for major attractions, with some guests reporting waits of nearly an hour for a single waffle.
The café’s location has also added to the challenge.
Positioned at a main access point into the park, its lines often spill into thoroughfares and complicate guest flow early in the day. Resort officials are now moving to curb those issues by changing how the restaurant operates.

Mobile Order Only
Beginning November 1, guests will no longer be able to queue in person for waffles at the Great American Waffle Co.
Instead, all orders must be placed through the Tokyo Disney Resort app. The system allows guests to choose a time slot, select items, and pay before arriving at the counter.
The mobile ordering system is already in place at several restaurants across Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, including Café Orleans, Hungry Bear Restaurant (very different from the Disneyland Park BBQ eatery with a similar name), and the Royal Banquet of Arendelle and The Snuggly Duckling in Fantasy Springs.

The change could prove difficult for international visitors, who have flocked to Japan in droves in recent years due to the weakness of the yen against the U.S. dollar.
While the Tokyo Disney Resort app has expanded English-language features, some guests continue to report glitches, including issues with linking tickets purchased through third-party sellers and difficulties adding non-Japanese credit cards.
