Disney Pin Traders Get New Bonuses and Events For the Holidays

If you’re a Disney Pin Trader, then you’re definitely going to want to check in today (October 15th) because Disney has announced that it’s “introducing pin trading mystery boxes and Mickey-themed boards”, which are “a new, interactive and fun way to trade official Disney Trading Pins”!

With these boards and boxes, apparently “you can hunt for pins honoring your favorite characters, attractions and so much more on the Mickey-themed pinboards, or be delightfully surprised by choosing a numbered pin from one of our mystery boxes”. To get started, find a Cast Member who has a pin trading mystery box or Mickey-themed board and present an Official Disney Trading Pin to trade with them. You can do no more than two exchanges per location.

If you’ve received one of the mystery trading boxes, you will then select a numbered drawer from the box, and the Cast Member will give you the pin from the drawer in exchange for the one you’re trading! We love the industrial look of these mystery boxes!

If a Mickey-themed boards was your choice, then you get a bit less mystery with the transaction–because you can just literally see the pins and pick the one that you want. Aside from having a fun way to display the pins, this seems almost identical to the traditional method, where Disney Guests would see the pins on a Cast Member’s lanyard and choose what they wanted.

Apparently these “new pin boxes and boards can be found in locations across Walt Disney World Resort. They are also marked within the Park guide maps, and there will also be some of these traditing opportunities at select resorts! If you’re specifically on the hunt for limited-edition pins, definitely try to find some “Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration pins”; some of them will actually be available on shopDisney.com too! And don’t forget to check out the special Heroes vs Villains Pin Trading Event that’s happening this December!
