Disneyland Paris Resort has closed the doors on an original dining establishment for a minimum 12-month renovation, which will keep the restaurant closed through at least early 2027. Annette's diner, which opened with the European Disney park on April 12, 1992, shut down permanently on January 5, 2026, for a comprehensive overhaul affecting both dining and kitchen spaces. Construction barriers now surround the 33-year-old restaurant, confirming the extended closure is officially underway.
Back-to-Back Disney Village Closures

Annette's closure followed just two days after the Disney Store next door served its final customers. The original Disney Village Disney Store—featuring some of the last surviving 1990s-style nostalgic retail design worldwide—closed January 3 for its transformation into Disney Wonders, a modernized franchise-based shop scheduled to debut late summer 2026.

Construction walls appeared around the former Disney Store location on January 8, according to X (formerly known as Twitter) account @DLPReport. Despite Annette's having already closed by that date, crews didn't immediately install temporary barriers around the restaurant.
“🔧 Walls are up around the Disney Store at Disney Village, being transformed into Disney Wonders by the end of Summer. Nothing yet at Annette's,” @DLPReport posted.

The delay was short-lived. On January 14, @DLPReport shared photographs of construction walls now completely surrounding Annette's.
“🔧 At Disney Village, walls are now up around Annette's, closed for a year-long refurbishment,” the account reported.

The barriers will likely remain in place throughout most of the 12-month renovation period, blocking guest access to the restaurant and concealing construction activity from Disney Village visitors.
Major Kitchen and Dining Room Transformation
The year-long refurbishment tackles both operational infrastructure and guest-facing spaces. Crews are significantly expanding kitchen capacity while completely renovating the dining room, resulting in slightly increased maximum guest capacity when Annette's eventually reopens.

Disneyland Paris Resort promised full floor replacement and complete furniture updates while preserving the retro-style restaurant aesthetic that Disney Parks fans appreciate. The renovation aims to modernize operations without compromising the nostalgic atmosphere that has defined Annette's for over three decades.
The bar area is receiving a complete redesign featuring chrome accents and a new layout inspired by 1950s diners. Booths throughout the restaurant will be reupholstered to mimic car seats from the same era, incorporating classic pastel colors—pink, baby blue, and vanilla yellow—that evoke authentic diner nostalgia.
Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't committed to a specific reopening date for Annette's beyond confirming the year-long closure. The vague timeline indicates that the restaurant could reopen anywhere from early 2027 to mid-2027, depending on the progress of construction and whether any complications arise during the renovation work.
