Disney Shares Glimpses of Characters in Revamped ‘Fantasmic!’ Show

Disney fans have eagerly been awaiting any news about the return of the Fantasmic! nighttime show that has become a Disney staple for many Walt Disney World Resort and Hollywood Studios Guests on their Disney vacations. Bit by bit, we have learned about the new show’s return date (which is November 3) and some new additions to the show’s line-up — but now Disney has given us Disney fans even more to work with!

Journalist Scott Gustin shared images from Disney earlier today that include glimpses of the Disney princesses, Disney villains, and other animated Disney characters who are returning to the Fantasmic! show or entering its stage space for the first time. New arrivals include Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, Elsa, and Aladdin; you can see Moana, Mulan, and Pocahontas in the images shown below!

Since Moana and Mulan are particularly popular Disney heroines, it is no surprise that they have been added to the show’s roster. Fantasmic! typically involves lots of pyrotechnics, fireworks, and cameos from Disney icons.

According to Disney, the show requires “50 live performers, massive sets, stunning effects, dazzling pyrotechnics and rousing music” to create the night of “silly and suspenseful surprises” that Disney Guests love.

Scott Gustin also shared photos of Mickey Mouse in his iconic Fantasmic! outfit (which Mickey wears while he fights off Disney villains with the help of Disney heroes and lots of Disney magic) as well as Snow White’s dwarfish friends, the Evil Queen, and Maleficent the dragon.
