Video: Disney Villain Steals the Show, Creates Her Own Parade in the Park

Disney villains are accustomed to being the outcasts—they actually prefer it.

In the 100 years of Walt Disney’s creative concoctions, shiny princesses and quirky sidekicks have always cultivated a mainstream fanbase. But even diehard Disney princess fanatics can attest to the magic in Disney’s villains. Their despicable demeanors are coated with charisma, and their ghastly appearances have an inexplicable element of charm.

They’re diabolically designed to draw the attention of our protagonists, like Scar to Simba, Ursula to Ariel, and Dr. Facilier to Tiana. While the roster of iconic Disney villains stretches longer than Elastigirl’s arms, one OG has sent chills down Disney fan’s spines since the ‘50s

With skunk hair, fashion aspirations, a cigarette holder, and her very own theme song, Cruella de Vil is as devilish as they come. Born in the 1956 children’s novel, The 101 Dalmations, the evil fashion designer has been centered in two animated Disney films, an animated TV series, two live-action remakes featuring Glenn Close, and a live-action origin story starring Emma Stone called Cruella (2021).

With a portfolio fit for a Disney princess, it’s safe to say the villain has stolen the show, and a Cast Member portraying her in a Disney Park captured Cruella’s essence seamlessly.

Raining on a Disneyland Parade

If there’s one thing Disney villains delight in, it’s ruining someone’s day. Although Disney Cast Members are tasked with making the Guest experience magical, accurately depicting the devilish side of Cruella de Vil that fans have come to love is doing just that.

In a viral video on TikTok by @trythegraystuff_, Cruella took the reigns on a scheduled Disneyland Resort performance. While Guests lined up to watch the popular “Magic Happens” parade near Disneyland’s City Hall, Cruella bashed the performance in true villain form. In the video, she says:

I am sorry to inform you all, I will not be in the parade.

Shortly after her statement, an announcement informed the crowd that the parade was about to start:

In just a few minutes, Magic Happens!

The brilliant Cast Member quickly responded, “FOR SOME!” Determined to have her moment, the Cast Member Cruella said:

I figure, if I put myself in their path, maybe they’ll play my song. I’m gonna give it a try. We’ll see.

Keeping her word, the Disneyland Cruella ran over to the band. With a shimmy and a few kick-steps, they played “Cruella de Vil.”  Check out the full video, here:

The Disney villain stole the show, and Disney fans praised her in the comments. One user on TikTok, @almitagregorio said:

She made her own parade!

Another comment from @veeveesparks gave a testament to the Disneyland Resort:

I’m a WDW person but these kind of character interactions make Disneyland superior.

In this moment, the real-life Cruella reminded Disney Guests why she’s been a premiere Disney character for decades. She’s going to make her presence known, and she might just steal the show.
