Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort has long been a favorite choice for families looking for affordable accommodations at Walt Disney World Resort. Known for its larger-than-life statues, colorful theming, and kid-friendly amenities, the Value Resort is one of the most budget-friendly options on Central Florida Disney property. However, guests planning to visit this month may want to prepare for a change affecting the Disney Resort hotel’s youngest visitors.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort sits alongside two sister properties, All-Star Music and All-Star Sports. Together, the trio of Value Resorts provides budget-conscious guests with some of the lowest room rates at Walt Disney World Resort, sometimes dipping below $100 per night during promotions. The All-Stars are often cheaper than other Value Resorts, like Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation.
On September 3, 2025, Walt Disney World Resort announced that part of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort would close for refurbishment in just five days. The project is expected to last through late October. While the Disney Resort hotel itself remains open, one of its most popular kid-friendly amenities will not be available for use during this time.
The official notice from Disney revealed that the resort’s Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area will close for maintenance on September 8.
“From September 8 through late October, the Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for maintenance,” Disney said. “During this time, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open and Guests are also welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney’s All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts. Guests may see or hear maintenance activity throughout the construction period.”
Typically, Disney Resort hotel pools are gated and only accessible to guests with an active room key or MagicBand tied to their reservation. That means guests are usually restricted to the amenities at their booked hotel. However, during the refurbishment, Walt Disney World Resort is making an exception by granting All-Star Movies Resort guests access to the kiddie pools at both All-Star Music and All-Star Sports.
Walt Disney World Resort has not shared an exact reopening date for the Fantasia kiddie pool. All that has been confirmed is that the refurbishment will last from early September through late October. Guests planning trips during this time should expect construction activity in the area and prepare to use other pool options.
