A construction project at EPCOT's Germany Pavilion is showing no signs of slowing down, with newly amended permit documents pointing to work continuing into early 2027.

Germany has been a fixture of EPCOT's World Showcase since the Florida park opened in 1982. Positioned between the Italy and China pavilions, the area recreates the look of a picturesque German village through detailed architecture, shopping, and dining. Among its most familiar locations is Stein Haus, a merchandise shop known for its collection of German souvenirs, decorative ornaments, glassware, and traditional steins.
Guests recently began spotting an increasing number of construction elements around the building. What started with planters, temporary walls, scrim, and scaffolding around the main entrance has since expanded to cover the upper-level balcony, faux staircase, and the pavilion's prominent “Stein Haus” signage. Despite the growing construction footprint, Disney has kept the store accessible through alternative entry points, including the nearby Weinkeller entrance, and has not publicly commented on the scope of the project or any potential operational changes.
The work comes as EPCOT continues to receive targeted improvements following the completion of the park's extensive multi-year redevelopment. That initiative transformed the former Future World into the World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature neighborhoods, but Disney has continued carrying out maintenance and restoration projects throughout World Showcase to help preserve its themed pavilions and guest spaces.

New Orange County filings now provide another indication that construction remains active. Disney has amended an existing Notice of Commencement for general construction at 1750 Avenue of the Stars, an address tied to EPCOT. According to the updated document, MSG Legacy, Inc., doing business as RSS Roofing Services and Solutions Florida, will continue serving as the project's contractor. The amended notice remains valid through January 29, 2027, unless construction finishes sooner or another amendment replaces it.
Although Notices of Commencement rarely specify exactly what work is taking place, they are a required part of Florida's construction process and often confirm that projects are still moving forward. In this instance, the filing does not describe the improvements planned for the Germany Pavilion, though its timing closely matches the ongoing exterior work surrounding Stein Haus.
The contractor listed in the amended permit is known for roofing and exterior building services, making the filing consistent with the visible work currently underway. Disney has yet to confirm whether the refurbishment includes anything beyond routine maintenance, and there is no official indication that a significant overhaul is planned. Until further permits emerge or Disney shares additional details, the project appears centered on maintaining the pavilion rather than substantially changing the guest experience.
