A familiar corner of the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT is about to look different, with early signs of a facade refurbishment appearing around the Stein Haus merchandise location this week.
Scaffolding and Scrim Signal What's Coming

On June 23, WDWNT reported that rolling planters, scrim fabric, and scaffolding had appeared around the main entrance to Stein Haus in the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The rolling planters block much of the primary entrance and connect to a construction wall positioned behind a nearby flowerbed. Two small sections of scaffolding — both covered in scrim, with extending poles also wrapped in fabric — are visible from different angles around the shop, with one peeking above the rolling planters near the “Weinkeller” entrance.
The setup is consistent with how Walt Disney World Resort typically stages a facade refurbishment before committing to full construction walls — a preparatory phase that suggests the visible work is still in its early stages.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn't issued any statement about the project, which is standard for construction that doesn't force the closure of an attraction, restaurant, or guest-facing experience.
The Shop Stays Open
Despite the construction activity beginning to take shape around it, Stein Haus remains open to EPCOT guests through alternate entrances, including the “Weinkeller” facade. The Germany World Showcase Pavilion merchandise location sells Germany-themed Disney goods and imported products — beer steins prominently among them, as the name suggests.

Standard operating hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., though guests should verify current hours on the Walt Disney World Resort website or the My Disney Experience app, as times may vary based on EPCOT's overall schedule.
No timeline for the refurbishment has been shared, and it's unclear how extensively the Stein Haus facade will be altered when the work is complete.
