For several years, a local anonymous skywriter has taken to the skies to send a message to Walt Disney World Resort Guests and the surrounding Central Florida area: “U + God = :)”
The seemingly harmless and good-natured message can be seen for miles and disappears mere minutes after the aerial acrobatics are completed. Other variations of the positive messages include “Jesus Loves You” and “God Is Love.” The messages have always been positive in nature. But it seems that some Guests have taken offense to it.

One Disney guest, @beewithacamera, previously took a picture of one of the religious messages, saying:
“Since when was magic kingdom not a no-fly zone? kinda don’t want this while I’m trying to enjoy a parade.”
Turns out this person is not the only one who takes umbrage with seeing a message of goodwill.
Another person said:
“seeing this always puts a big bummer on my park day.”
A third said:
“forget american atheists in this scenario, just think about all of the religions around the world and all of the people that are choosing to travel here. i know america is already so christianity-obsessed, but imagine how disrespected that must make people of other faiths feel.”
The tweet has since been deleted.
Another tweet, however, shows more religious skywriting over Disney with the note:
“Nature is healing, the religious skywriter is over Walt Disney World again today!”

It should be noted that The Walt Disney World Resort still has a no-fly zone that prohibits any aircraft below 3,000 feet, and it is impossible to tell if the pilot is in violation of that or not.
Further discussion goes on in Reddit since it has been some time since the skywriter has been seen:
“Anyone know what happened to the Sky Writer over Disney areas? Haven’t seen any Jesus clouds in a while.

Even though it has been some time since we have see writing in the sky, it is still unknown if Disney has decided to take action against the skyewriter.
With some Disney guests offended by the writings and others in favor of it, where do you stand? Let us know in the comments!
I’m glad the messages are up there. I could care less if people of other countries and religions are offended. They can stay home. Their religions and countries have no concern about offending Christians or Americans visiting them. These same doofuses offended by a message in the sky that last for mere minutes are the same that find offense with the song Zip A Dee Doo Dah or the term “ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages.
Yes religious skywriting should be allowed. Our country is in dire need of religious influence.
People need to get a life. I usually visit Disney annually and have often seen this sky writing. I am not religious but if it offends ANYONE then I suggest you don’t look at it.
I agree completely with the folks that say if you don’t like seeing the messages, don’t look up!! There are so many things I don’t like seeing at Disney, and other places, but they are in my face and it is difficult not to see them, yet people are called names for not liking Woke issues.
So tired. People getting upset about everything nowadays. Don’t like it, don’t read it, just keep walking. Is this message gonna ruin your life, NO.
Some of us view Halloween and Christmas as extremely offensive. Does it keep me from going to the parks those times of year, though? NO. I just ignore the junk I’m not interested in and move along. Just keep swimming! If holiday stuff only appeared and disappeared within 10 minutes out of an entire day, I would be ecstatic!!!! But no, it’s shoved in my face 24/7 everywhere you go for MONTHS! A few mins of sky writing is at the very bottom rung of things I could make an issue out of in a day at Disney. But that guy has just as much of a right to his beliefs as I do. And plenty of people don’t like how I share my beliefs, either. So I’m the last person to try to stop anyone else from sharing theirs.
I see no problem with the sky writing. Like many have said, if you don’t loke t then just don’t look at it. I think it’s called freedom of speech.
He has been around for many years, if you don’t like it , don’t look.
I actually love seeing this. It’s a great positive message. There’s always someone who is going to be offended about something… they don’t have to look at it.
Since when does Disney get to decide what is written via 1st amendment free speech in the sky? Write away….
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
Fact. I’ve seen a whole lot more offensive things. That would certainly start my day on a positive note.
