It appears that the rollout of Disney World’s next-generation Magic Bands is going a little slow, leaving Guests to start their vacations without them. But it appears that Disney Parks is acknowledging the problem and is intent on making up for the delay.
According to Theme Park insider Scott Gustin, Disney is emailing Guests who will not receive their MagicBand+ order before their Disney World Vacation, apologizing for the delay and offering a full refund AND a gift card for the trouble.
The email reads, in part, as the following:
“Due to the overwhelming popularity, we are unable to fulfill your order in time for your arrival at Walt Disney World Resort. Therefore, your order will be complimentary.
If you were charged, a refund will be automatically processed back to your original form of payment within 7 business days. Your MagicBands will still ship to the address provided, at no cost to you so you can use it for future visits.
In addition, if you’d like to purchase other MagicBands to use at the Walt Disney World Resort for this visit, to provide the discount you were offered online, we will be sending you a $50 digital Disney gift Card that you may use toward the purchase of a MagicBand+ and a Walt Disney World Resort retail location, or you may apply it toward the purchase of other Disney merchandise or experiences.”
Disney is emailing people who will not receive their MagicBand+ order prior to their WDW trip.
If you're impacted by the delay and receive the email, bands will still be shipped to your home but you will receive a full refund AND a gift card. Kudos to WDW for making it right. pic.twitter.com/9DRQAyDme3

Guests can find multiple options in retail locations throughout Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs.
If you find yourself being one of these Guests who will not get his or her MagicBand+ in time, please be sure to check your email and reach out to Disney World Guest Services with any further questions.
