Big news coming out of Walt Disney World Resort as they have announced the new launch for the upgraded MagicBand called MagicBand+.
From entry into the Disney Parks to purchase options, Disney PhotoPass memories, and even unlocking your Disney Resort hotel room door… the MagicBand has proven to be a handy tool inside the Park and at surrounding Disney Resort hotels.
Now, Disney is launching a NEW version of the MagicBand called MagicBand+!
According to Disney Parks Blog, the new MagicBand+ “has great new features, including color-changing lights, haptic vibrations, and gesture recognition – plus it pairs to your smartphone using the My Disney Experience app.”
Plus, if you are all about designs, Disney has promised more than 25 designs ready to be purchased that we can’t wait to check out!
The MagicBand+ will interact with the new Disney Fab 50 character sculptures throughout Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests with MagicBand+ can take a “Disney Fab 50 Quest” as they help Tinker Bell bring the sculptures to life.

Disney announces, “MagicBand+ is your guide to seeking numerous virtual bounties hidden across Black Spire Outpost with the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience. Vibrations and lights on MagicBand+ guide you down the right path. When you find your Bounty, you can use the Play Disney Parks app’s augmented reality thermal viewer to reveal who’s hiding in the shadows. Local guild master Raga Bua will reward you with galactic credits.”
Not only can MagicBand+ be used to interact with the Fab 50 sculptures throughout the Park and at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but during Disney’s nighttime spectaculars, Guests can watch as their MagicBand+ comes to life.
Disney has noted that MagicBand+ will light up and vibrate in sync with fireworks, visual effects, and music for Guests viewing “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park and “Harmonious” at EPCOT.
The MagicBand+ will also engage at all four theme park icons for Beacons of Magic, including Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The big launch date for MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort is July 27, 2022 – just days away!
Ready to snag your MagicBand+? MagicBand+ cost will start at $34.99 at Walt Disney World stores and online at shopDisney. Disney Resort hotel Guests can purchase MagicBand+ online at special pricing before their arrival. There is also an Annual Passholder discount.
